Yusuf Moolla obtained his medical degree from the University of Pretoria in 2007. He then completed his internship at King Edward Hospital in 2009, before completing his community service in Emergency Medicine and Paediatrics at Stanger Hospital in 2010.

After earning his master’s degree and fellowship in Internal Medicine in 2015, he went on to specialise in HIV Management, Geriatric Medicine and then Gastroenterology at the College of Medicine, South Africa between 2016 and 2019. During this time, Dr Moolla served as Junior Consultant in the Department of Internal Medicine at Addington Hospital and later became Senior Registrar in Gastroenterology at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital. He has published articles in the South African Medical Journal, South African Journal of Oncology, Southern Africa Family Practice, South African Gastroenterology Review and HIV Nursing Matters.

As a specialist physician and gastroenterologist, Dr Moolla specialises in the treatment of all common general disease however, has an interest in the disorders of the digestive system, pancreas and liver. He has a keen interest in swallowing disorders, abdominal pain, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and liver disease. In addition, Dr Moolla is able to perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic and endoscopic ultrasonic procedures.

Dr Moolla currently practices at the Gateway Centre for Respiratory and Gastrointestinal Disease and is a member of the South African Gastroenterology Society and the College of Physicians, South Africa.
